Aeromovel Featured in El País, Uruguay’s Leading Newspaper

Uruguay’s largest newspaper, El País, highlighted on its front page on August 28 the proposal for AeroMet, an elevated, electric public transportation system using Aeromovel technology to connect Tres Cruces to Parque Roosevelt in just 23 minutes.

The project is being developed by Aerom, in partnership with Uruguayan companies Berkes and Teyma, applying Aeromovel technology to the metropolitan area of Montevideo. In its first phase, the 14.4-kilometer route will run along Av. Italia and Av. Giannattasio, with a peak-hour frequency of every 3.3 minutes. Being elevated and independent of traffic, the system offers consistent, fast, and predictable service, ensuring reliability for passengers.

AeroMet will feature 11 state-of-the-art, fully accessible stations, in addition to two terminals, and will allow the creation of a Metropolitan Linear Park underneath the route, with green spaces, lighting, sports areas, and leisure zones, fostering urban integration and social interaction.

Based on national, patented technology with international recognition, Aeromovel stands out as automated, sustainable, safe, and cost-efficient. The construction method is also fast and minimally disruptive: components are prefabricated and assembled on site, allowing work to proceed without major interference with city life.

The coverage in El País underscores the international relevance of Aeromovel technology and its role in transforming urban mobility through innovative, safe, and sustainable solutions.
