Celebrating 10 Years of Success of the Aeromovel Line – Trensurb

It is with great satisfaction that we celebrate a decade of commercial operation of the Trensurb Aeromovel Line, an automated and elevated transportation system that connects Salgado Filho International Airport to the metropolitan train system. This achievement is a source of pride for all of us and a significant milestone for urban mobility in our region.

To mark this special occasion, the Porto Alegre Urban Trains Company (Trensurb) and Aerom Transportation Systems organized a commemorative event that took place on September 15th at 10:30 AM at the Salgado Filho Station of Trensurb. This event was attended by municipal, state, and federal authorities, as well as representatives from Trensurb and Aerom. Additionally, we had the honor of presenting a commemorative video that portrays the successful journey of the Aeromovel Line.

Some features of the technology, such as construction flexibility and minimal intervention at the installation site, ensured swift completion of the project. “The Aeromovel was developed for the 2014 World Cup and was finished ahead of schedule,” emphasized Trensurb’s Director of Operations, Ernani Fagundes.

Trensurb’s President, Fernando Marroni, also highlighted his pride in being a fellow native of Pelotas – RS, with Oskar Coester, the inventor of the Aeromovel. Both were born in the city. Jairo Jorge, Mayor of Canoas – RS, emphasized his belief that the Aeromovel is not a technology of the future, but of the present.

The Aeromovel Line has played a crucial role in improving urban mobility in the Salgado Filho Airport region. With efficiency and safety, it has provided comfortable and fast journeys, making life easier for over 7 million passengers over these 10 years of operation. It is an example of how innovation can contribute to the quality of life in our community.
