In 1979, after tests and concessions of the first patents (by England, followed by Japan, Germany, United States, France, Brazil, amongst others), Empresa Brasileira de Transportes Urbanos (EBTU) became a partner in the project and, in the same year, the agreement between Coester and EBTU was signed. In 1983, the construction of the Pilot Line began. With approximately 1 kilometer, Aeromovel made its first trip in Porto Alegre (downtown) along Avenida Loureiro da Silva. In 1986, the project was concluded, through financing from the Financier of Studies and Projects (FINEP).
Get to know a little bit about the Aeromovel Pilot Line. Located in front of the Guaíba River and Gasometer Power Plant, the Line is part of one of Porto Alegre’s postcard views.
The Pilot Line operates as an important testing and study laboratory.
