Guarulhos Aeromovel Opens to General Public Under Phased Operations

As of Friday, February 20, the Aeromovel system at Aeroporto Internacional de São Paulo/Guarulhos – Governador André Franco Montoro has begun carrying the general public, marking a new milestone in its phased implementation program. At this stage, the service operates with reduced capacity, in line with the operational plan developed jointly with GRU Airport, the Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil, and other regulatory authorities.

The gradual rollout follows recommendations from the international certification body responsible for system approval and reflects the technical complexity of the operation, which integrates automated controls, pneumatic propulsion systems, sensors, safety interfaces, and protocols tailored for large-scale airport environments.

Since October, the Aeromovel has completed more than 15,000 performance and safety tests. The system has also been operating daily with airport staff since December 2025, demonstrating the technical readiness required to progress toward full commercial service.

Opening the system to the general public represents another step in a structured validation process that includes progressive verification, continuous monitoring by technical teams, and operational adjustments aligned with certification milestones. The schedule is being coordinated among all stakeholders.

The Aeromovel will continue operating under a phased model until the final certification stages are completed. Capacity is expected to expand with two vehicles in operation still within the first half of the year, with full project delivery scheduled for the second half of 2026.
