New MagLev-Cobra Vehicle Arrival at UFRJ: A Milestone in Technological Evolution

The vehicle designated for the MagLev-Cobra System, manufactured by Aerom, has arrived at the facilities of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and has been carefully hoisted onto the elevated track, where it will undergo integration, testing, and installation of the automation system.

The MagLev-Cobra technology operates through magnetic levitation, employing superconductors and rare earth magnet tracks. This innovative technology is based on superconducting diamagnetic levitation and is continuously being developed in China and Germany.

Currently, the MagLev operates on a 200-meter line, connecting the two Technology Centers of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The project is led by Dr. Richard Stephan, Full Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at UFRJ.

Aligned with the principles of the Aeromovel System, the MagLev-Cobra is powered by electricity, offering low noise levels, reduced energy consumption, and zero emissions of pollutants.

The delivery of this new vehicle represents a significant advancement for the System, and Aerom takes pride in contributing to the progress of this project through its extensive experience, studies, and applications developed over the years.”
